About us

Being a Franchisor myself for more than 22 years in Australia, I believe that there is a significant gap in terms of support for Franchisees who are looking to sell or exit their business venture.

Since they are already receiving Franchise Fees/Royalty payments from you, it appears that for the  Franchisor it is not a priority to devote time and resources to assisting an existing Franchisee to sell their business. Instead, the majority of their efforts are directed towards selling new Franchises as this results in additional income from new Franchise Fees flowing through to the Franchisor.

Some Business Brokers do not fully understand Franchising or believe it is an extremely difficult transaction to complete. Once they have identified a potential buyer, they must ensure that the Franchisor approves the buyer as a new Franchisee, and in the case of a retail style Franchise, the Landlord must also approve of the purchaser. As you can see, selling a Franchise is significantly more difficult than selling an independent business.

The perception is that some Business Brokers are only interested in receiving marketing funds from sellers in order to ensure that the Broker’s brand is recognised and that the phone will ring more frequently.

Some Brokers may even talk about other businesses they have for sale, rather than just the business the potential buyer was ringing about when they called.

This is where “Buy My Franchise” differs from the competition. It differs from the norm in several ways.

When you list your business with “Buy My Franchise,” your business is considered to be up for sale until it is sold. The one-time fee is exactly that: a one-time fee.

Your Franchise listing will remain on our website until it is sold or until you request that we remove your listing. This means that there will be no unpleasant surprises when it comes to keeping your business visible in what will eventually become “Australia’s Largest Franchise Sales Directory”.

Another point of difference is that YOU have the ability to determine where any enquiries are sent.

  1. If you are comfortable speaking with and negotiating directly with a potential buyer, you can choose to receive the enquiry yourself rather than through an agent.
  1. You have the option of having any enquiries you receive forwarded to your Franchisor or the Franchise recruitment officer in your Head Office, thereby holding the Franchisor accountable for assessing all the new Franchise applicants that you send to them in accordance with their policies.
  1. You could have any enquiries sent directly to your Business Broker, who you may have an exclusive agreement/listing with.

For example, you might decide that all marketing is handled by “Buy My Franchise” and that all enquiries be directed to your Business Broker. Thereby holding the Broker accountable for the fact that you may have sent him (for example 5 enquiries in the previous month). You may be asking “Why haven’t any of the applicants who submitted applications progressed to the next stage?”

  1. You can choose whether or not you want to use one of our in-house Business Brokers to negotiate and communicate with any potential buyers.

*This service will incur an additional charge.

Ultimately, you are the one who decides which option best suits your individual needs and circumstances.

You might be wondering why you should list your business with “Buy My Franchise.”

That’s a good question, not only will your listing be live on our “Buy My Franchise” website, but we will also promote your Franchise opportunity through our social media channels.

When marketing through social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter, we have the ability to be extremely targeted, ensuring that the advertisement is seen by the appropriate age group of people in the appropriate location at the appropriate time. Local people will be able to see your Franchise for sale at a more targeted level as a result of this.

“Buy My Franchise” will also be exhibiting at all of Australia’s “Franchise Business Expos,” which are held in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth throughout the year. Your Franchise opportunity will receive the maximum amount of exposure possible.

So, if you’re interested in selling your Franchise, please fill out the short enquiry form below and a member of our team will contact you shortly.
